Adding a timer to live well switch
My new boat did not have a timer on the live well pump. It was a easy install and adjustable timer bought on Amazon for little over 30 bucks shipped. Put a splice clamp on the ground wire going in original switch to ground on timer. Left power wire on original switch. Then hooked a wire to original power out put post to input on timer. Hooked wire from original out put to timer out put post. drilled a hole and postioned timer. Easy to do if a non mechanic like me had no problem. I can leave set or turn off at timer switch. when running down the lake or end of day original switch still works as a power shut off. Instructions calls for a fuse but my original switch is already fitted with a breaker and still goes through it.
Things needed tools - drill , pliers , knife
supplies , (3) female connecters , (1) wire slice clamp , electrical tape, (2) 6'' pieces of coated electrical wire
