Map Making
Anyone familiar with Lowrance Insight Map Creator? There is not much info in Googleland. I know how to make maps and install them on Garmin units. I know the process for map making for Lowrance HDS should be similar. Maybe?
I have generated some maps of a local lake (1000 acres) using Google Earth and have them on my laptop. I used Oziexplorer to calibrate the Google Earth maps (geospatial). After calibration, the maps were saved as raster images (.map). The maps I created using Ozie work fine. I am hoping to convert these calibrated images to the AT5 format used by HDS.
Any help???????
I ain't interested in the Genesis drive around and record stuff.

Here is a screen snapshot from my tablet using Oziexplorer moving map feature. The map is very accurate. This is the new lake bottom just before filling began. You can see the water in the ditch in the middle of the map heading to the dam and dam overflow. You can't make a contour map this accurate with Genesis.
I talked to Lowrance customer service. No one know much (bs) about the Insight mapmaker. The referred me to NAVICO map making division in Europe. Their English is not English to me. We are working via email.
I should be able to put this raster image of the lake on the HDS. I know I can put it on my Garmin handheld.
