    Default Transducer placement

Haven't got the best results marking fish. Can see bait good but fish show as half a arch most of the time.. decided to checkout my transducer . Adjusted it even with the boat it was pointed with the tail end in the air.. also thinking it needs to be moved to the left a couple inches its right behind the crease on my boatName: uploadfromtaptalk1415054794878.jpg

Can you show more of your transom so we can see how far to the left you may be able to go ...??

I would think there would be much cleaner bubble free water just to the left of the speed sensor ...

I need to remount a couple of transducers as well. I ordered a mounting board from Cabella's so I would not have so many holes in my boat. You might want to consider doing that before you move the transducer. I think it would read better if you moved it further left also, but make sure it will clear your trailer pad.

If you are wanting high speed depth readings ... Have you considered a "shoot thru" ... ??

Your hull looks like fiberglass ...

It is it's a ranger. Ist thing about the shoot thru is I ain't sure if I can get it adjusted right, once you place it its there, can't just loosen the nut and move it. Second is I wasn't sure how accurate the temp would be

I'm not an expert..............But If you are seeing bait good and you are seeing part arch's I think chart speed combined with boat speed dictate the arch detail.......

Does it read good when you are on plane? If yes than location may not be an issue.
What does your FF instructions say.......... does it call for ducers tail slightly up or down?

If you mount it shoot thru you will loose temp.
