    Default Some Deep-Cycle Battery Info

Some data about minutes of RC per pound and cost per minute of RC. I chose to do only the larger batteries in Groups 30,29 and 31 which are essentially the same size.

This is information about deep-cycle performance, but most of these batteries can be used as cranking batteries if they meet your outboard CCA requirements. You can use this data when comparing cranking batteries if you compare CCA first.

Most of these batteries are marketed under multiple labels, so I noted that in the footnotes. Cost calculations were done with the cheapest version I could find at regular retail. Sale prices aren't reflected in the numbers even for batteries that are commonly on sale. Also be aware that warranty on the same battery may vary significantly under each label. For example, the JCI 29 battery is warranted for 3 years free replacement as a Diehard but only 18 months as an Interstate.

Also note that battery specs and labelling can change without notice, so pay attention to labels when you buy.

AGMS in order from highest cost per minute of RC to lowest:

    Trojan 31 AGM $239 177 minutes 69lbs 2.6min/lb $1.35 per minute of RC
    Cabela's AGM 302 $240 190minutes 62.8lbs 3.02min/lb $1.26 per minute of RC
    Duracell 31 AGM3 $180 200 minutes 69lbs 2.9min/lb $0.90 per minute of RC

Conventional Batteries in order from highest cost per minute of RC to lowest:
