    Default Gen 2 Lowrance HDS Touch Screen problem


    Fishing with my buddy and he accidentally tapped the screen and the screen went black turned it off and turned it on logo comes on and it goes black we know about the power button you tap on it and it get lighter. We started tapping other buttons and it finally came back to normal. can anyone tell me what we did wrong and how to correct it it would be greatly appreciated

    It is a touch screen. Touch it, don't tap it.

    You may need to calibrate your touch positions on the screen. The procedure for calibrating the touch screen is defined in the maintenance section of the operators manual.

    If you hit the power save button that is what it does the logo will go on and off.

    It doesn't sound like something normal. Just tapping the screen should not cause the unit to turn off unless the shutdown pop-up window was already opened and just happened to "tap it" in the right place.

    As Cane Pole mentioned above, I would also calibrate the screen. (If you haven't done it already)

    I would say keep an eye on it and if it starts shutting down or doing strange things, do a hard reset. If that doesn't resolve the problem, give Lowrance customer service a call.
