This weekend I went on my second trip with the Humminbird Onix 10 SI, everything was working great for about 6 hours, then the unit could no longer read the depth and the SI, DI and 2D went to garbage. The first screen shot below is when it was working correctly when I was trolling at 3MPH and when everything went downhill. Did a factory reset on the unit checked all connections, unit is wired directly to battery with 16gauge wire, all connections are soldered and covered with heat shrink, along with some 3m electrical tape. The transducer cable is even covered with wiring loom to prevent any type of wear. Turned main power off in boat to make sure no other electronics was causing interference. The third screen shot below the DI has black boxes in it like it is lacking processor resources, also when I powered the unit off/on and went to the DI screen it took over 10 minutes for the screen to scroll only a half a screen of garbage, I checked the screen scroll speed and set it to 10 and it made no difference. The 2d does the same it pretty has nothing on it. I even took the LakeMasters chip out and the other SD card out, rebooted to see one of those was causing the issue, still the same. Before the depth stopped working it was going from 1200' to 200' to 75' when I was in only 50' of water. Have a call back in to Humminbird to see whats next. In one of the screenshots below I did get a nice SI capture of the bridge column.

Been working with Humminbird to get the problem resolved, as of today they think it maybe caused by electrical interference. So I went home pulled out the transducer and put it on the deck along with its wire, and wired the main unit directly to its own dedicated fully charged battery on the deck (images below). Put the boat on the water and held the transducer in the water, results are still the same. I can hear the transducer ping about 1 every 2 seconds, and on a working unit I can hear the transducer ping 3 or more times a second. Next step is to send the entire unit to Humminbird.
Gfort sorry it's giving you fits, I am wanting one but not until they get them working!!

Hmmmmmm, no comment at this point. I am just posting as it happens. At $3000+ I do expect everything to work, and work more than 6 hours, I dont think thats to much to ask for. I am trying to stay positive but after two 4 day fishing trips in the past month and the unit did not correctly on either its getting harder. Not very often do I get to go fishing and 4 days is even more rare.
I would be very disappointed as well! Have you talked to Kosmo or Diel off of the forum?
I think they both have onix units, see if their units are working as advertised. They also may have better contacts for the onix units? Please keep us informed, I had been contemplating the purchase of an onix.

I have talked with Kosmo but not with this latest issue. I did contact my credit card company on the issue also since the bill is due in a about 10 days, they told me I did not need to pay for it until everything works correctly and I am happy, once I pay it in full I have no leg to stand on, money always has a way catching everyones attention. I am going to work with Humminbird to see if they get everything taken care of and working as advertised.
Last time I saw that problem it was a transducer gone bad. Have them send you a new one to try. Talk to Deborah Benson.
I have not experienced the issues that your having gfoteiney, so I really can't offer any help but it does seem like it would be best if hummingbird would just replace your whole setup. I feel bad for you though, I no that once you get ever thing working like it should , you will be more than pleased. as I am with my onix.
