I feel bad for you though, I no that once you get ever thing working like it should , you will be more than pleased. as I am with my onix.
I am sending the entire unit back to them, that way they can test it all out. If it is another bad transducer it will be the third one in less than a month, I hope it is not a sign of how it will be in the future.

Here are few pictures I was able to capture with the Onix when the SI and DI was working. The second picture is an old road bed that went to an old cemetery in the bottom of the lake. The last picture is the columns from under the large steel bridge.

According to the shipping label it showed up at Humminbird Monday morning. Gave them a call to check the status, they said they do have it and it will be a few days, they also emailed me a work order also today.

Still learning all the menu options out. One downfall I had was the down imaging did not work, the DI screen was blank with nothing on it. I was on the water and called HB tech support, they walked be through to verify the setting were correct and everything was correct, they are sending out a new transducer to see if that corrects the problem, hopefully this will correct the issue, otherwise they may have me send the unit back in. The Onix unit is going to be a great unit once everything works, and cannot see how well the DI works, if its anything like the SI I will be really really happy with the unit.

I am having similar problems with the Onix 8 just installed on my boat.
We were missing Side Imaging for a while but found the right setting by mistake and it's now OK. Now our problem is the 2D sonar has gone away and all we have is a black screen. Also for some reason the fish symbols will not show. We keep selecting the symbols but still get the arches.
I accept we are having learning curve issues but will follow your course and call tech support while on the water to verify the settings.
Can you believe how clear those screen shot were from Kosmo!!!!!!!!! OUTSTANDING.

I have noticed on mine also that the fish image will start on the right hand of the screen with the depth and then it just disappears back to arches as it gets about 1/4 of the way across the screen, I figured it was some kind of setting someplace I didn't have set right. It is a learning curve on these new units with everything they have. Those images Kosmo posted are really detailed. I may end up buying another transducer just to have on hand, this would allow me to determine if the problems are with the transducer or the main unit by hanging it over the side of the boat. I was also curious about how many hours you had on the unit before the problem showed up? Also would be curious to see what your problem ends up being. I have not heard anything on my unit repair, so it will be interesting to see what the problem was. I was almost thinking if it is the transducer once again I thought about putting in a 10 gallon bucket of water and let it soak about a week to see if it will still work, guess my though is maybe the transducer are getting moisture inside of them knocking them out, I really dont know its just a thought.

    Gfortelney:

Out of action for a few weeks, we close on our home this Monday so I'm on lockdown with no wallet :-)
I'll post or PM as soon as get back on the water and try to get the Onix dialed in. Hope you get your unit back soon.

The Onix is sitting at Fed Ex since Thursday waiting for me to pick it up, hadn't made it around to get it yet. Not sure when I will be able to test it out, probably be a week or so. Work order said the transducer was not responding, not sure if they replaced the transducer with a new one or fixed the one I had.
