That is exactly what I wanted/not wanted to hear! I haven't seen anything out there if HB was gonna have a DI transducer to replace the US2. I think it would be a headache to replace.

Transducer Shield and Saver makes a beefier mount for attaching the transom type xducer to the foot of the TM...

This is doubtful ...(but not impossible)...because the 2d piezo in the US2 is designed to work with several different brands of depth finders...

HB adding their own proprietary piezo for DI (or SI) would cut their marketability for the Minn Kota to be compatible with the other brands...

The Academy Sports ad for the Springfield, MO area has the 598ci for $499. If you have an Academy locally, you might check their ad.

Man I looked online and didn't see the Academy deal and I have one right down the road. I did look into the transducer saver.
