Default 899ci hd si combo need i pilot???

K after lots of videos and research I've fought my old manual trolling motor for a long time!!! Idk nothing about this I pilot but now I've figured out which HB model I want and its 899ci HD SI combo has wireless link to I pilot if I'm not mistaken. Question is what Trolling motor do I need to wireless hook to my HB ?? Its 16ft sea ark but I want one big enough that I can install it on a 20ft boat if I get a bigger one later. What all will I need to make this setup work with this HB unit?? Thanks

The connection between the trolling motor and the Humminbird unit is not wireless. There is an Ethernet cable that will connect the two together.

According to the Minn Kota web site:
“i-Pilot Link is compatible with Minn Kota Terrova and PowerDrive V2 bow-mount trolling motors.”.

You need to get a Terrova 24/80 with 60 in shaft. IPilot link installed. The 60 my seem big but it will work on your 16 and you will be glad you did if and when you get a larger boat.

K thanks cray and the 24volt system I have 3 batteries now. Two in the back one in the front there all hooked to same minn kota on board charger. can I just add one battery to the front battery or have to seperate them for two different chargers?? If its two batteries together to make 24v does it take a 24v charger?

Hopefully one of the guys that has the diagram for 24 hook up will post it. Basically you have 2 12 volt batteries, cable hooked from Positive of one battery to Neg of other battery. Your motor hot hooked to empty pos and motor ground to open Neg. You would need 2 leads of your charger, one set to each battery. Charger still see's each one as a 12 volt. I am assuming you have a 3 bank charger at this time. You could have one leg each to trolling batteries and one to cranking battery.
What is your other battery used for at this time?

The IPilot and Link are 2 different systems. Most Terrovas will come with the foot pedal even though you have IPilot or the IPilot Link system installed. You can use the foot pedal on the Terrova with either system installed. On the PDv2 if you install IPilot or Link you loose the ability to use the foot pedal.
The IPilot and IPilot Link system are both controlled by a wireless remote. The Link system allows you to connect HB fish finder and motor together for following contours on LakeMaster charts. If your waters are not on a lake master chart it's not much use to you right now. This is just my opinion though, if I was buying new I'd try to find it in my budget to get the link first time. I think there are going to be lots of things that will be coming down the road for that system. I know there is supposed to be card you can get now to create a chart of your waters while you are fishing and the ability to save it.

On your batteries and charger, if you got 3 and 3 bank charger you should be set on that end. Follow the Diagram Barnicale Bill posted for hooking up 24 volt motor. Use the other for your cranking and power to accessories like your

    finder.
