Ricky, thats a good point and with what I have been reading about the new electronics they are effected by small voltage drops and interferance from other things running off your battery. I figure this is the best place get an idea of what guys are using to keep all the new gagits running.

They're all AGM and all deep cycle. All are hooked up to the on-board charger. The starter battery I mentioned is a deep cycle, but it's got the CCA to turn over your motor easily (850 CCA--I don't pay any attention to MCA, because I fish in cold weather alot and the 225 needs at least 750 CCA). You can check out the reserve capacity online.

AGM's (aborbed glass mat) are not near as sensitive as the old gel batteries--check out your charger manual and make sure it's not referring to a gel battery. My on board charger is 7 years old and no chip required, and before now I had the wet cell and the AGM's hooked up to it with no problems.

I would agree with the old gel cell, I worked with the old optimas in the Air Force ad they had a lot of charging issues. My 60 hp only requires 350 cca so the 850 would be great and being able to hook the O/B battery charger to both trolling and motor batteries would be awsome.

Thank you for the great info
