I talked with humminbird first thing this morning. I think they are going to make it right ASAP. I wish I weren't having these problems but at least they are doing everything possible to get it straightened out. I do believe that.

Rickie, they said it had to do with the birds eye view. They had me to hide anything that had to do with that and to hide self test. That cleared up those problems.

What is "birds eye view". Sounds like satellite imagery. If it is I would assume it would be something that would have to be subscribed to.

I find it hard to navigate with the birds eye view. But have not gave it a good chance. Here on Truman with all the standing timber you can get in trouble real fast if your off your trails. So I always run with the map zoomed in pretty tight as I know the general areas and where to turn. But nice to have it zoomed in to stay right in the channel where it is only 20-25 ft wide. Hopefully they get you fixed up. Mine will be getting installed this weekend but looks like it may be a few weeks before the ice is gone to try it out.
I wouldn't use it on Truman Jared, but that's just me. I was always zoomed in close, and stayed right on my tracks. Once you get good low water tracks laid down on Truman, you'll always be safe, except for floaters, but that's another story. I was never worried about hitting anything, even running in complete darkeness wide open, you know, 2am in the classic to get to your spot.![]()
This will be my first year with Humminbird. I did fish several times last year prefishing and in a couple tournaments using the 898 and 858 on crappincali's boat. All my trails on the Lowrance units went with my Champion when I sold it. Had some good trails laid with it when Truman was 2 ft low. Will have to start all over again now with a new boat and new units. Will take some time to figure it all out but I think the 1159 and 1199 will serve me well once I get them figured out.
