Thread: I am trying!!!

Hope this is the right forum. Went yesterday, trying to learn new Elite 7 HDI. The lake I fish was a little high and dingy. The bottom must be soft as both the 2D and DI showed narrow bottoms, with the DI only a narrow line that was like the 2D. Trying to learn how to recognize fish w/o the fish icons. Of course the DI was better if the boat was moving between 2 and 6 miles an hour. The DI did a good job of interbiting the 2D readings. If I could just learn how to determine fish on both 2D and DI. I saw what I felt were fish in 6 to 8 fow. Turned out to be an old pond roach. Some times crappie will stage under a school of roaches, but I had no luck. I only caught 5, all different species. I had a great time. Anything to get out of the house. If I can be peresistant, maybe I will get the hang of it. I would like to see what the DI looks like over a soft bottom......
