Default One DF in two locations?

Hey friends, new to the site! Great community with lots of great info! I'm hoping someone can help me out here...

I just recently purchased an Elite 4HDI from Lowrance. Budget won't allow me to purchase two units at this time so I want to be able to run this unit at my console and at the deck. My plan it to mount the transducer at the transom and run that to the console where I would have a mount installed. I would purchase a second mount for the deck and an extension cable. Am I correct in thinking that I could simply move the unit back and forth while connecting/disconnecting the extension cable?

Hopefully someone can confirm my idea or offer a better alternative. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can with one big IF does Lowrance offer a extension cable for the transducer and a separate power cable. If ducer and power are in one cable do they offer an extension?

Im pretty sure they make a TD ext. cable. You will need another power cable.

Thanks guys. This is the cable I'm looking at https://www.mercadomagico.com/produc...FUJo7AodHhkAHQ

The Elite 4 HDI is a new 2014 unit so I'm not sure if that cable is compatible. I guess I just need to call and find out what it available. For the time being I'll just install a RAM Swivel mount at the console so I can turn it to face the deck.
