    Default Wiring two df to the same cable


    I've got a 570 di and a 385 ci and about to upgrade to a si on the helm so wanting to put the 385 up front to have gps only not worried about the sonar . Can I wire the two together or do I have to run a Separate wire back to the battery

    I would think you could run both off that wire as long as nothing else is drawing off it. I would try it and you have a problem I would just run a new wire a size larger and tie both to it. Most important is really good connections.

    Would like the 899 but alittle out of my price range . But hate to get a598 and not be happy

    I'm a believer in a fuse panel or at least a buss up front. I have a blue sea fuse panel with a ground buss up front. It's fed from the fuse panel under my console.

    I would save a little longer and buy what you really want, in the long run it's usually cheaper 'cause you end up buying the other unit at a later date anyway.

    If you are looking at getting the 899 (after saving a little longer) you really need to run it on its own power cable from the battery.

    CrappIemax you got a point. HumminbIrd I'm wanting to put the 570 and 398 together and get the 598 or 899 for the helm

    If you knew the wire gauge size we could make a guess as to whether the wiring could carry enough power or not. Might just be easier to connect them both up and give them a try. If you end up with problems then run a separate power wire just for them.
