I would think you could run both off that wire as long as nothing else is drawing off it. I would try it and you have a problem I would just run a new wire a size larger and tie both to it. Most important is really good connections.

I've got a 570 di and a 385 ci and about to upgrade to a si on the helm so wanting to put the 385 up front to have gps only not worried about the sonar . Can I wire the two together or do I have to run a Separate wire back to the battery

I'm a believer in a fuse panel or at least a buss up front. I have a blue sea fuse panel with a ground buss up front. It's fed from the fuse panel under my console.
If you are looking at getting the 899 (after saving a little longer) you really need to run it on its own power cable from the battery.
CrappIemax you got a point. HumminbIrd I'm wanting to put the 570 and 398 together and get the 598 or 899 for the helm

If you knew the wire gauge size we could make a guess as to whether the wiring could carry enough power or not. Might just be easier to connect them both up and give them a try. If you end up with problems then run a separate power wire just for them.
