    Default RF issues again!!!!!! Help!!!

I have a 788cihd combo mounted on my terrova at the front of my boat. Last year I had rf interference issues with he 788 which were solved by getting a new power cord from h-bird. Recently connected my 998 hd di combo at the console with Ethernet cable. RF issues again on the 788 when trolling motor is running. Have tried disconnecting the Ethernet cable from the 788 as well as playing with all the settings. No luck.

Very puzzeling problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Has the RF reappeared on the 788 just since the 998 was Ethernet connected to it...??

Did you disconnect the cable at both units? If you didn't, the cable is just BIG antenna.

Cables are like a 2 headed snake. They can bite at either end. Disconnect both ends.

If Cane Poles suggestion doesn't help...

If you had the RF fixed before ...and now it's getting in...something has changed in the 788 system to allow the RF in...

It sounds like the xducer cable for the 788 may have become damaged or nicked to allow RF to bleed into the 788...

If the xducer cable is ran down the TM shaft...you may need to completely remove it and inspect the xducer and it's cable closely for damage points....(cajen fryer found a nick in his 788 DI xducer cable that wasn't even noticeable until he completely removed it from his TM)...

And while you have the xducer removed from the TM...test the xducer in the water completely away from the "powered on TM" to see if the RF goes away when the xducer (or it's cable) is not even close to the TM...
