    Default Hb798 help

I have an hb798ci hdsi on the bow of my boat. Just installed it. Had it on another boat and it worked. Unit is 6 months old and it will not find a GPS position. In the status it says GPS not connected. Any ideas on what to try?

First thing would be to check to see if there is anything right over it to be blocking the signal. Wouldn't think just moving from boat to boat would affect anything. Don't know about your unit but on my 998 there is a menu section with a option to check GPS or trouble shoot.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes to acquire satillites...

Try restoring defaults and then power on the unit and wait a few minutes...

Are you outside in clear view of the sky...??

Wide open and I left it on for over an hour and it never acquired a signal.

Use the menu button to find the GPS view. See what it says there. There's also a selection on one of the menus for antenna choice, make sure it's internal or auto.

If this unit is networked or was in your last installation, check the GPS antenna selection in the Networking Source Setup screen.

Press the menu button twice to get into the main menu system ....
Cursor over to the "Views" tab...
Cursor down to "GPS Diagnostic" ...
Cursor right or left to make the field say "Visable"...

Exit out of the menus and press the "View" button until the GPS diagnostic screen shows...

(Post a screenshot of this GPS diagnostic view if you can)...
