Default Screen Protector for Humminbird 597ci HD di

I would like to use a screen protector for the HB. Same product as I use on my 10" tablet - cut to size with scissors. Only problem is that HB does not recommend any screen protector. Does anyone use one anyway and, if so, what do you use?

I tried the Zagg protectors...twice...too sticky made installation not so easy...expensive
ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | Leather, Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield

I tried Screenpatronus ...3 years....good protector ...easy to install...degrades viewability/brightness of the screen (especially non LED backlit screens)... cheaper..
screenpatronus items in screen protector store on eBay!

I tried NuShield DayVue...good protector ...easy to install... doesn't degrade brightness of screen but is very reflective showing my own reflection in the screen ... Midpriced ...

Now I use NO screen protector and just clean it more often thru the day...

I would just clean it - but I seem to get a lot of water-spotting. Been using bottled spring water with cotton ball swabs. Would I be better off switching to distilled? Haven't tried "mild" soap or detergent 'cause I'm not sure what that is. We use Dawn for the dishes - is that "mild"?

The “official” recommendation from Humminbird is:

Humminbird recommends using Windex® Vinegar Multi Surface(in the spray bottle).Do NOT use any wipes products (which can also be available as the brand name Windex Multi-Task).
The lens contains a special coating which improves visibility. It is recommend to use the above cleaner because we have tested and proved this cleaner. It does not deteriorate the coatings on the lens.

I just installed the NuShield DayVue on my lowrance. It was very easy to install and helps with sun glare in direct sunlight. The main thing to remember to to make sure the screen is very clean prior to install.
