I have a Max 70 Minn Kota cable and made it where I can steer it from back of boat,I have a 12 volts motor that I put a switch on to reverse current. I use a threaded rod that turns, it attach to pedal in 30 second, all I have to do is push switch up and it goes one way and push down and it goes the other way and when you take finger or foot off switch the switch goes back to no current so it stays where you stop it because it is geared reduce motor. I put it on here about a year or more ago. And for me IMO I would not trade my Max 70 for 2 Terrova, will not stay over top of brush good enough for me. I rarely use this guiding system because I rarely troll, the main draw back to my method is cannot change speed unless I go to front and turn speed control,of course if I was to use it regular I would rig something to change speed . Now Tom could take my gear motor and make it remote

Rickie ,here are some pic of my set up,one is a pic off the TM and the others are on TM .If you look close you can see the plug that goes into cigarette lighter plug ,then wire coming off of it has on off on switch, the gear motor has a threaded rod vertical that turns and drive the part up and then turns the opposite way and pull pedal back down, sound hard but it runs easy,to take it off only takes 2 seconds

Rickie the motor is from one of my auto bouy winders, but you made a good guess because the first buoy winder I made was from a car windshield motor before I ordered some motors
