Default help with 998 and adding waypoints

    Guys,

I need some help figuring this out. I have a list of waypoints from a buddy of mine he sent me by email. The coordinates are in Lat/Long. I need to get these waypoints into my 998 humminbird. I really don't want to enter each one by hand into the machine. is there any way i can put them in excel and then export them to an sd card and just upload the data to the 998 through the sd card? thanks for the help.

    Ringo

Loading them into HBPC would be as easy as loading them into Excel...

Then HBPC will allow you to load them to the SD card (in the correct format) to upload into your 998..

HBPC should be in your HB online account when you register your unit...

Using HumminbirdPC would be the easiest way to do this as Rickie stated, unless you can copy and paste the coordinates. Then it may be easier to do these another way.
How many waypoints are we talking here?
What format did he send them to you in (Word document, in the text of the e-mail,…)?

There are 65 waypoints in word format, but I was able to copy/paste to excel in column format. The coord are lat/long in dd.dddd.
    Thanks

If you don’t have these entered yet Ringo, just e-mail them to me as an attachment and I can put them into a *.GPX file for you. You can open this *.GPX file with HumminbirdPC and upload them to an SD card. With you unit on and running you can install the SD card and the unit will ask if you want to load the new waypoints.
