Default HB 587 HD DI Problem

My 587HD Di, the DI works like it is supposed to. The Maps and GPS work correct. The fish finder screen is white except a dotted line for the bottom and if a school of bait fish goes by it will show a few dots shows no orange or green no fish i have changed some settings even hit the factory default setting no change. This unit is only a few months old was working just last couple of times went out it stopped if it is out of the water it will put orange on the screen. Thanks Cub48

Is the digital depth jumping around or stable..??

Are you using 200kHz or 200/83kHz...??

Is "Switchfire" on "Clear" or "Max" mode...??

What is the sonar sensitivity set at...??

Does the DI show a good bottom return...??

Turn on the "RTS" window to "Narrow" and see if it shows a good return at the bottom depth..(RTS is Real Time Sonar which is a vertical flasher with no filtering)...

Last week the depth was jumping when we were shallow. 1' to 1'8" it is set on 200khz switchfire has been on both clear and max. i think sensitivity is around 0 not sure on this. DI works like it is supposed to has good bottom return i can put the split screen the one on top of the other the top is 90 % white it has a bottom return but it is just a few dot running for a bottom. I have had the RTS on narrow and wide. The week before i hit the factory default it changed the DI some but the finder stayed the same. Was thinking of trying to update the system. I had not noticed it was white, as i have been looking at DI most of the time. I did not go today as it was pouring rain this morning and The Big Bass Splash is going on today. Thanks for the help Cub48

Set the view to full screen sonar...

Press "Menu" 1 time to open the Sonar Xpress menu...

Check the "Lower Range" setting and make sure it is set to "Auto"...

Then set the "Sensitivity" setting to at least 10 and adjust up or down until the screen starts to show some small clutter in the water column...

Post a pic of your unit's screen....(even if its a camera or phone pic)...

Interested in what happens. I just bought the same HB. Sitting in the box still as I won't be pulling the boat out in this snow very soon.
The fishing was so good I thought it was yesterday
