I thought he was wanting opinions on how/where to mount the actual LSS transducer, not the control box/module for the SS/DS function myself, but
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I got tired of fooling with the cable and am in the process of installing my transducers on Rickies transducer stick. I will deploy it when I deploy my TM. I know this works and no hassle with cable once installed.

No. No more than a foot apart if you want to use the SI overlay. I use it. I overlay SI on 2d. Neat images, and you can really define targets such as fish in brush.

I thought I finally had it figured out.

I'm going back to fishing off the bank with the farmers daughter.

My biggest. Concern is if I mount it to the transom and I let the boat float backwards (due to wind or whatever) then the ss ducer is At great risk of getting trashed on rocks or trees docks etc that's why I was wondering if maybe jack plate mounting will be my best option

I believe someone make a lss mounting for the jack plate. I might be dreaming though. Fantasies come with old age.
