I have sent in one unit to Hbird and there turn around time is fantastic from the time it left my door to return to my door was 6 working days.

I don't care if they keep mine the whole month I'm gone as long as it is RIGHT when I get it back!

That's pretty quick turn around. I will have to give them a call.

I had the 788ci and it had done the same thing since it was new. HB tried to fix it but never could. They just gave me a gps puck and that fixed it. I did not really want to mount a puck. That was why I got the ci model. I was not very happy at all with the 788ci. It is wss useless in 10ft or less of water. Jumped all over the place. That is why I sold mine. Now is time to buy a new one and I want to stay with HB but I am not sure now.

Erratic depth issues can sometimes be filtered out with the "Surface Clutter" setting or changing the water type to one of the "Salt water" settings....(seems the units sometimes pick up clutter in the water column and thinks it is the bottom)...

Erratic GPS antenna issues can sometimes be eliminated by using an external puck...(I know...more hardware)...

You should definitely take a look at the new AS GPS HS antenna.... If a boat icon "Heading" is something that would interest you... This antenna with 1 of the dedicated DI units ought to be the berries...

Wiskers should be posting some results soon with the AS GPS HS antenna hooked to his 788cl HD DI Combo...

The AS GPS HS antenna sure has made my 1197 chart icon much easier to manipulate and maneuver...
