Default Canepole Question on transducer mounting

Let me say first, that I like your transducer shoe. I am strongly thinking of adding structure scan(LSS-2) to my HDS 7. I have an old hand held trolling motor that no longer works. Can't I take off the motor head and mount this to my boat and use something similar to your trans. shoe to mount the 2d and structure scan trans,.This would give me the ability to scan a wider area and eliminate the movement and loss of picture caused by turning the trolling motor. I like the idea of the " DA "Ducer ". I was just trying to utilize what I had and save a few bucks. I notice you have this set up on your boat. How does it work? Any problems? Feel free to tear this apart if you or anyone else see a problem. As always thanks guys for any input.

Yep. That will work. That is something like I did on my Jon boat. I got the da ducer 'cause I wanted it and it looks professional. Besides, Rickie and I are buds. This device was not available when I built the ducer rig for my Jon boat.
