    Default I-Pilot or Co Pilot

I'm not sure what I need. I mostly fish stripers and crappie. I need something to keep the boat heading straight . Will the Co-pilot do this or do I need the I-Pilot.

Co Pilot is just wireless remote control. To keep it going in a straight line you need either the old compass based autopilot, or the new I-Pilot which has both compass based and GPS based course control for your boat. Get the I Pilot and be done with it. I have the older autopilot ( with co pilot) on my old boat and it is great, but I just ordered the Terrova with I-Pilot for my new boat.

I waited a couple of months til I could afford the Terrova I-Pilot and love it. It really is like having an extra person on board to steer the boat. I was trolling for crappie when a 21" striper hit one of my minnows. I was in a narrow section of a creek where other boats were fishing. I hit the anchor lock and was able to play the striper in without drifting into other boats or the shore.
The compass and speed controls are really good for trolling or working an area.
Get the IPilot Terrova and you will never regret it.

Only thing I have problem with is with the iPilot it takes a second to be able to determine that it Is off so some manual adjustments are needed from time to time but overall is one of the best pieces of equipment that I own

If you troll for rock and crappie, you'll never look back after your first 15 minutes with iP. The AP features are great. Combine them with speed control and it gets even better. If you're working the same area repeatedly, track record/playback (combined with speed control) is like having a first mate to run the boat while you fish. Searay indicates one use of Spot Lock, but you can also use it to stay over schools and structure. Because it is GPS-based, do NOT expect the kind of precision needed to shoot docks or vertical jig BPs. If you go with a Terrova (an excellent choice), you will get both hand and foot controls. Some crappie fishermen use the foot control, but once they get used to the hand-held remote, many disconnect it and stow it away for emergencies.

Hands down the Ipilot worth twice the difference in price over copilot.
