Just bought an HDS 7 for the trolling motor. What is the best way to attach--Is there more hardware you can buy to attach the transducer to the trolling motor?

Lowrance makes a bracket that will mount a skimmer transducer to the tm.

The standard skimmer bracket will mount to TM just fine. Instructions should have pics.

Check out my post in this thread for pictures of the factory mount on a TM. Just takes a hose clamp.

if you aren't in a hurry, call Lowrance. They generally will swap transducers with you so you can get the puck style.

You can use the standard transom mount bracket as catfan indicated, or you can get the TMB-S adapter kit ($14.00) See Image below..

If you want to protect the transducer from rocks and stumps, you might want the Transducershield and saver SSC-1. A little more expense but cheaper than a new transducer.

Crappiemop, Brian has the ticket . The transducer shield is the way to go.Even if you use the adapter to mount to the trolling motor, you can still damage the transducer on limbs, rocks, etc. I broke the neck on mine and installed the transducer shield. Works great and if you change boats it is interchangeable and almost in destructable. Cost $39.99, I am sure Brian sells them, or you can get them from BPS page 466 if you want to see one.
