    Default Powerdrive Vs. terrova

Ok I'm pretty sure there has been plenty conversations on this but I bought a powerdrive 55lb for my boat a month or so ago an now I'm in a bit of situation. I haven't had time to put it on yet an my uncle came In for thanksgiving and seen it an wanted to give me my money back. I'm wondering is the terrova really worth the extra money and aggravation of ordering another. I know it will be worth it for the simple reason if I do it I'm gonna go with the 80lb terrova. But I'm afraid on a windy day the 55lb wouldn't keep my boat on track. I have a nx750 nitro 18ft. Any suggestion or advice will deeply be appreciated..

Sell it to him and order the Terrova 80 and you won't regret it. I have the 55 on 18 WarEagle and can see the 80 would be better on your heavier boat.

I had a 55 on a 17 footer when it's windy it wouldn't hold me on my spot. got an 80 Maxxum on it now and it holds.

Terrova is top of the line--built tough to handle anything you dish out. Moving from 55 to 80 means 12v to 24v, so you'll need another deep cycle battery. If the battery you planned to use with the 55 is other than brand new, sell it to your uncle, too. It's best to match batteries by brand, size, and age. While you're getting everything set up, put a 2 or 3-bank onboard charger on your Christmas list.

Everybody is right on. A 55 is not enough for a boat your size and weight.

Ipilot has several features you will find invaluable at times once you use and understand how they will help you. We can all give you descriptions but there is nothing like seat of pants experience. Try if you can to get in the boat with someone who has one and experience it for yourself. I am not one to recommend many things or spend someone else's money but the Terrova Ipilot is well worth the extra money. Best money I have ever spent on fishing equipment.

Once again (at the risk of sounding like an echo), I couldn't agree more!
