Thread: Problems running 2 FF at the same time, need help

Thx Greg, tried until late last night to no avail. Got up this morn and tried a few times and bout 8 am I got on and downloaded current software for all my HBs. Updated the units and they are all 4 in the network. Made all the settings I felt necessary and will take her OTW soon for final check offs.

I updated the 998 and must have forgotten how to get the readouts to appear on the bottom,,, I'm re-looking at that.

FYI for anyone lookin to do this,,, if u buy a new unit (700 HD series), the correct cable collector will be in the box. Buy used, it may not, as was my case. You still may need to upgrade the software, I did..

I may have said this before, but humer me... I had a hole in the dash where another unit was before and it didn't work. I took it out and put a 798ci SI there I already had. Worked ok, it's hard to find the best spot on the transom to mount the transducer so both sides will be at their best. I had a 788 up front on the TMs US2 sonar. This was all ok, but u know how it is... In the mean time, I had bought a 998 and had it at the console. I was getting some interference, so I moved the ducers all around trying to get it better. Well, got a chance to buy a 1198 which I've wanted for a long time, mounted it at the console, moved the 998 to the back to use pulling cranks. That 1198 is so big the interference was way too much. Didn't get a good pic at all with all those ducers on at the same time. Turn them off and the pic was awesome. Hence, Ethernet.. I found a 788 hd and a 798 hd and thats what im using. Gonna sell the two i have that are not HD. I now have 2 ducers on the 1198, using the one on the right for DI on the 1198, and for the 998 and 798. TOW will tell if all that works or not. I'll let u know. I already know using two ducers on the 1198 is worth the money.

Got everything install on a temp basis and took it out for testing. 788 up front uses the US2 on the TM and shares GPS with 1198. The 798 in the dash and the 998 in the rear all share the same transducer and GPS with the 1198 as well. Worked great.
