i'm in nc too and i know the lakes i am looking for are on there, they show up just fine on the fish finder, i'll keep playing with it but it is getting aggravating, i need a personal tutor,lol.

I wouldn't make a good tutor.... I put mine on my computer and have forgot what I did. I do remember that it took a very long time and wasn't very self explanatory. You put the card in the puter then install it as per instructions. I think that when the instalation is going on it is using the card and is in contact with the Navionics web site. After it is installed you can leave the card in the unit and the computer has the "card" installed on the puter. You can view the maps on the puter without the card, if that makes sense. There must be a copy on the puter. After a while the program would become unresponsive and would not work...don't know what is going on here but I discovered if I go offline before launching the Navionics program it works OK.Originally Posted by gobbler

Now mine is having trouble keeps saying to update fresher data and it hangd up about 86% through ,so I unistalled it and d/l ed everything again same thing, I start looking around and I think they are down(navionics) for some reason ,this might be the problem ,ive sent an email to them ,i'll keep you updated

Mine does the same thing I uninstalled the program a while back then re-installed it with no change. I have learned that if I go offline when I launch the program it's OK. You can go back online after the program has started and it works OK. It must try to go to the update site that causes the glitch. (Just guessing here)

Still have not heard from navionics and still no fresher data update, It still works but wish they would explain things to me

One thing I did find out is that if the lake your looking at happens to be one they the Nav. people havent charted yet, the lake will show up in the maps...but there wont be any contour lines. It will just show blue, outlining the lake. I wish I could find out how to change the maps to standard ft. an miles and not meters an km. Get off the metric stuff !
