    Default I need help setting up a basic Lowrance x50 ds fish finder


    I'm trying to set screen to show archs and balls of shads i was told the fish ID shows false reading is this true.

    Well, yes it could. If you have fish ID on, air bubbles look like tiny fishes. I believe you can download the manual from LOW. There are some info videos on the Lowrance web page. Check it out.

    I have an x50 on my jon boat. I keep fish ID on, although I know it gives false readings. However, as long as my Brenda sees the fish symbols on the screen, she keeps on fishing. ha

    best advice would be is go spend time on the water, and be over familar bottom so you know what you should see, and then start making adjustments to the sensitivity and contrast, you will eventually get it tuned to your liking. But its time consuming and frustrating. GL
