I had a brand new 798 that did the exact same as this one is doing right out of the box. I sent it in & they put a new receiver in it & it worked like a charm (except for the DONUT)!

I can understand the speed jumping around as we report what the GPS Receiver calculates (we do not massage the data through software as much as others do). What has me worried with Wiskers’ unit is the long lock in times, low number of satellites being tracked and large estimated position number.
The unit will display a red circle whenever it does not know that the boat is moving (usually over 1.5 mph).
The internal GPS Receiver needs an unobstructed sight of the surrounding satellites. So the clearance would be at about 5 degrees above the horizon in a 360 degree circle – same as the external GPS Receivers.

I'm wondering how many channels does the internal antenna use...16?..50?...(I cant find it in the specs)...
Maybe adding an external antenna for the 788 would increase usability...??
