No problem with the foot control. I use my foot control in combo with my remote all the time. It just depends on what I'm doing at that exact moment. The reaction is not as fast as a cable steer but not far from it either. The spotlock function is the cat's meow. I vertical fish brush a lot and when I hook a fish I just hit the button, unhook fish, fix my bait, retie, whatever and don't have to worry about drifting off my spot. Even when the wind is blowing I'm still within 15 feet of where I hooked the fish and many times much closer.

Would definately love to have the Spot Lock feature just to keep me close to a brushpile while handling a fish, re-tying, ect.

Quit considering and buy it, u will love it when you get used to it. The foot control is no problem. The spot lock is good for a lot of things. I use it a lot when I am casting at a brush pile, unhooking a fish, tying on a jig, peeing, eating, snoozing. I have even put it on spot lock while I got in some one elses boat. There are several combination of ways to use the Terrova. I have been using my terrova now for over 2 yrs and have never changed the remote battery. I keep a spare just in case. I might fish Nimrod tomorrow, if you are there you can try it out.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

I bought a Terrova with I-Pilot and put it on my Ranger bassboat (which I use for crappie fishing....particularly spiderrigging and pulling crankbaits.) Liked it so much I had another one installed on a new fishing pontoon I just bought. In my estimation, Terrova is the only way to go...and I've been fishing and using trolling motors for years. As far as the foot pedal is concerned, I can't tell much difference in it than a cable-steer (but it does take a little getting used to it) You won't go wrong with a Terrova with I-Pilot
