    Try this...

    Power on the unit...
    Hit the "Menu" buttom
Of the 3 (or 4 options I'm not sure) options available...choose "System Status"...
    Hit the "View" button..
Of the 3 options available...choose "Accessory Test"...

Does it show the GPS connected or not connected...??

If it's not connected there may be a problem with the internal antenna...

Same prob today on my 898. Push all wires in from the back, the 898 has a holder to keep them in place but mine didn't work. Once I pushed in the wires in everthing was A OK!

Xring.. Do you have an external antenna hooked to the 798....?

Or, are you just using the internal antenna..??

    Rickie

PS... That list is the possible accessories that can be connected to your unit...

The "temp" being "connected" means the unit is recognizing the xducer...

The "GPS" being "unconnected" means the unit is not recognizing a GPS antenna connected..(internal or external)...

The CI in the unit number designates it's an internal antenna. Not sure if that menu would show the internal antenna as an accessory?
