    Default transducer position?

I know this is a dumb question but I am going to ask anyway. Is there any problem with mounting a transducer on the side of the boat or under the console area?? Just curious???

This would depend on the type of transducer/sonar and how you are going to try and use the sonar. Let us know some specifics here and we could give you a better answer.

It just seems like a hassel to put the transducer on the trolling motor. Since you would like for it to be in close area to where you are fishing I wonder if you could put it in a different area than on the transom?

Not a hassle at all IMO. Exactly where you want it for finding brush. Anyplace else in the front and you knock it off on the trailer.
