    Default What screen to use?

On a HDS10 ifffin you were fishing 4 to 5 ft. of water all day. I mainly left it on side view with a 25 ft. range. I just wanted some Profesional opinions. I never fished a lake that shallow before.

Thanks Wilbur Oh forgot to mention TD is in front about 1.5ft. in front of TM. Was Spider riggin

Wilbur, I can't give you a professional decision....or even close. I know it's hard to turn off the electronics at a new lake, but that would be the best bet. You're sending out an awful lot of noise with the pinging in that shallow of water. Most structure would almost be able to be seen, unless you're fishin some the pretty muddy water.

Someone else could give the mathematics on what kind of picture you're going to get, once you factor in the angle of the sonar coming out of the TD....that ain't me either.

Just what are you wanting to see?. Sonar is 1/3 of depth. So in 3ft,, you see a circle of 1ft. In these depths, you prolly are spooking any fish that is under the sonar ducer,,, and not because of a 'tickin' noise. Your shadow,, & banging the bottom, even in 'dirty' water is prolly spookin. Use your 'structureScan' out from where you are fishin. Find their holding depths. Then spider rigg them. <*)}}}><
