Default I am wantin to be able to read depth while I am running

have tried shooting thru hull (aluminum boat) with not much success. I have a 898 but not using it for depth when running, have a Lowrance cheaper model just for tryin to get depth while running, have heard of the alumaducer but have heard some success but about as much no success on them. I found this bracket setup and was wandering if anyone had used it

That would work great--will get the ducer far enough away from the hull to get clean water. Just have to be careful not to get it broke off

My friends new Ranger has a tru-hull transducer on an HB 998.Might look in to that but I'm sure the cost would be a lot more .
