Default two transducers on one unit?

I'm looking at buying my first fish finder. So far from what I have read I am leaning toward the HB 570di. I was wondering if I can mount a transducer at the back of the boat and another one on the trolling motor & hook them both up to one unit. And then select which transducer to use. In other words, is there more than one input on the back of the unit?

There only 1 xducer input on the head unit...

But you can use this switch to operate 2xducers on 1 HB unit...

Greg is the expert on this kind of stuff...(I have difficulty finding stock xducer specs on the HB website)..

Maybe he will log on today and give you some insight here...he usually jumps in every day or so...

I just installed my HB and was looking at the old transducer it made exactly like the new 1 and will fit in the slot the only difference is a few pins in different locations maybe itll work just wont have the same frequency as my newer HB

If you could get it to plug up your WIDE 100 transducer would work for the 200kHz sonar on your 788ci unit but not for the 83kHz part of the 788ci sonar.

The WIDE 100 uses a different plug connector, so you would need an AD-629 adapter to get it to work. It may just be better to buy a new trolling motor transducer and have all of the sonar capabilities that the 788ci can give you. The XTM-9-20-T DualBeam transducer or even the XTM-9-QB-90-T QuadraBeam transducer are possible replacements.

The whole clockwise – counterclockwise rotation really only comes into play when you are talking about an inboard motor and prop. If you have an outboard motor the propeller is already behind the transducer so the direction it rotates does not matter unless you are backtrolling with that same motor. As long as you are using the sonar unit while moving forwards with an outboard motor you can mount it on either side of the motor. Most mount it on the starboard side so they do not have to run the transducer cable around the motor and it is also a few feet shorter from there to the unit on the console (transducer cable is only 20 feet long).
