    Default another navionics question

I tried reading all the previous post on this but did not find my specific question. I have a HB 385C and a basic Navionics East SD card. I downloaded from Nav. the PC ap for the East region ($24.99) and I can look at the lake maps on my PC. Under "settings", it has the option of downloading data from PC to SD and vice versa. I can't get the PC to talk to the SD card. I want to copy my WP from my card to my PC, clean them up and reload to SD. The .exe files seem to be different on the SD than what the PC App is looking for.
Anyone done what I am attempting and can you point me in the right direction?
    Thanks,

You ARE using a separate SD card and not the Navionics SD East card to download the waypoints from the HB, right? If so, the file on the separate SD card is probably an .hwr file, and you should be able to load the card into the SD card slot on your reader and Windows should be able to see the reader and the card. If so, you should be able to navigate to the card from inside any GPS management software.

OK let me see if I understand this. I have to use a clean SD card, not the Navionics card, to move data back and forth from the HB to the PC. For instance, can I create a WP on the PC app, copy it to a clean SD card and load to my HB using the SD card? If I am understanding this, all the waypoints and routes I saved on my HB are on the unit's memory and not the SD card. Is that right? It makes sense now that I think about it, but had not really tried to do this until now.
What I thougt I could do with the app was read the Navionics card on my PC, add WP and routes and plug back into the HB. Guess it doesn't work that way.
    Thanks for insight.

Yep; not familiar with your HB, but on mine there's a menu option to download the files to a clean HD card. When you want to upload, just put the card in the HB before you turn it on. When you do turn it on, it should recognize that it's got a file to upload and do it (it'll tell you what it's done). If they're all new points, you'll be fine. Watch the waypoint naming--if you've got 2 points with the same name, I can't remember what happens--could have two points with the same name, which could get confusing.

If you have two (or more) waypoints with the same name the unit will accept them as separate waypoints – unless they also have the same coordinates. If the name and coordinates are exactly the same the unit will not load, what it considers as the same waypoint, again.
