    Default Desulfator

Does anyone know anyting about 'desuflators'?

From what I understand they pulse higher voltage to the battery which promotes the breakdown of lead sulfite to allow its 're-saturation' into the electrolyte AND 're-deposit' lead on the plates.

If so do you believe they work?

The theory seems sound but was wondering if anyone has any experience good/bad with these.

We tried them at work a few years back. Since we had several hundred batteries at a time in use in the lab, we were always having battery problems. My best recollection is that we might have seen some improvement in 1 out of 10 batteries at most. It doesn't make them like new. It just let them drop their charge current so the bank looked charged.

Better to just keep them charged 24/7 and not worry about it.

I can't speak to the charge they give, but I've used one for years and I have to say that my batteries have lasted a long time before failing....and I don't buy the high-end batteries....more like the best I can afford at the time.
