    Default Best Depth Finder

I have not bought a new depth finder in several years and the technology in them has changed so much I don't even know where to start.

I am looking for a Depth finder with GPS, Down imaging, and a color screen. Looking to keep the price under $800 or so if I can. What is going to be the best one out there for my money?

Map cards are 100-150 normally. I have a 597 HD DI and a 570 HD DI. For the price you listed I would go with the 597, I like mine alot.

Not saying lowrance isn't as good, but for the money you get more with humminbird.

I keep seeing these great screens and gps maps and wonder do I really need all of that. So looking for someone who knows to tell me. I fish big sandy on KY lake and do not move from that area. The water is 30 feet at most. Used to fish up there years back and catch fish every time on the lake now I am retired and fishing again and it is hit or miss with miss most of the time. Got another boat and do not like the fishfinder that is on it eagle with a small screen. I fish long line most of the time plus some spider rigging and brush fishing, almost always for crappie. Have been told that with the GPS finders that the maps are not much use unless you buy maps from another company and that humminbird does not have the big sandy maps at all. There are 20 dg and 60dg transducers which is best for my type of fishing will be on the trolling motor. Is color that much better and side scan worth the money for what I need it for ? I have been looking at the 587 ci hd combo but is it over kill?
