hds 5x question

You guys have all the answers, so i am asking. I have a X 510c which has the same transducers as the HDS 5x . Can I just change out the unit head. My question is will the same power cord work with the hds 5x. If I later go to structure scan will I then have to change out the power cord. I have asked this questions to various sorces and have gotten different answers. This would save me from pulling the deck again. .....Thanks for any input, I love reading everyones comments.

Lowrance could answer all this correctly but if you have the blue connecter's they will work fine.

Be safe and call Lowrance. I think it will work(as in power on and off) but if you ever add lss1 you will need Hds power cord with Yellow wire (trickle wire) for the lss1. That's what I ran into when I switched out lowrance 522 to the HDS with lss1

Thanks Steve48, I thought that that was the case but had not bee able to get a straight ans. The guy who wants my x510c will get anew transducer and power cable. Thanks again for your information. Who knows I may never get structure scan. I am out there to fish , not look at depth finders.
