    Default DI and 2D question

I have a HB 581i now and want to add a 570DI. Can I run them side by side and run 2d on the 581 and DI on the 570 with out any problem. Suggestions or thought please.
    Thanks

I don't own either of them, but I say yep. OK if on 2 different frequencies. ie 200k and 455k.

That would work CP if we truly ran only the frequency that you choose to have the unit display – but we don’t. On most of our units if you choose to display the 83kHz sonar, the unit is still transmitting and receiving the 200kHz data.

It may be possible to run these units side-by-side (I am assuming the transducers will be side-by-side as well) but there are no guarantees that you will not see sonar-to-sonar interference. If you do try turning on and up the Noise Filter menu on the unit that is showing the interference.

Ok. I didn't know that HB never turn off the signals when not in use, but I understand why thisw is done. I assume these two frequencies of the 2d are serially time slot multiplexed on the same transmit lead and that you can read one, the other or both on the receive lead? Just guessing.

Still should work and worth a try.

Thanks I already have the 581i and I really like it so I couldn't see spending the money for a 998 to get both in one unit. Going to give it a try and see what happens. the transducers will be mounted on oppisite sides of the transom.

This is usually only with the 200kHz 2D sonar Cane Pole.
