Transducer is for a HB 798 si/di. Bumped a log at idle speed which knocked the transducer up. When then ducer came up the wire that goes into top of transducer was cut on my jack plate. My question is can the wire be spliced back 2gether? The other problem is the wire was cut fairly close to the transducer leaving very little wire to work with. Any ideas?? thanks for any help

I rewired my transducer wire (dang cat of all things chewed it into) with telephone wire once and it worked. I don't know about the connection being under water thou.
i spliced my 797s once ipilot went nuts and twisted it into before i could cut the power
You can splice the wires if you have enough wire to work with. I would use shrink tube over each wire and a larger piece over the entire splice and then paint it with scotch kote. It is a sort of liquid rubber you can buy at an electrical supply store. It's kind of expensive but it will seal it up and remain flexible.
