If you just wanted to look out to the side for maybe fish or struture under a boat dock then gps would not be needed.

If all HDS units can be upgraded with the LSS-1 Structure Scan to add SI and DI to a HDS base unit....

Could it be possible that the Lowrance HDS 5x (no GPS) with the LSS-1 .....obtain 2d/DI/SI...(no GPS)..??
