    Default Navionics Chip?

I have two Lowrance HDS units and I am looking for help on who makes the best chip for them. Is the Navionics Platinum the best? I have a LEI chip but it will not show the channel on some of the lakes I fish in Georgia. Any help or input would be appreciated.

I have the Navonics Hot Spot chip and it shows the river channels and creeks in dark blue on the 3 lakes that I fish.

Go to Lowrance page and check out the HDS insight maps s/d. It gives a list of the lakes covered. I have the insight map an it has 4 times the detail than the installed maps.

Will a HDS UNIT power and sonar cables plug into a LOWRANCE 334?

Yeah, but you won't have the wake-up line that is used for some newer accessories.

Tom, are you saying the Insight HD s/d card is 4 times more detailed than the factory installed Insight?

Yes he is. The best money spent is on a basemap unit, then buy the Insight card. I can run down the lake and know I'm in the channel due to the shaded contours. Also, easier to look at the larger map to target certain depths. IMO
