    Default 997 software udate date?


    Does anone know when the software update will be out that removes the readouts? I have 5.840 now.

    I was wondering the same thing. I E Mailed HB Wed. I havent heard back yet. I will let you know.

    We may be out of luck on that update. The 997 processor is different than the newer 998.
    We will just have to wait and see if the 997s will get the update. ( I hope we can get the update)

    I really don't see that change requiring a lot of processing to accomplish. Overall it would be less to process if you only show 2 readouts instead of all the others. Also, prior to the update the full SI view was the only one that had the problem of not filling up the screen. All the other views went end to end. Seems like a simple code fix but I could be wrong. The only one that may cause a strain on the processor is the auto SI range. Then again you already get auto range on DI and 2D. JMO

    Will probably just have to wait until they release the updates to the newer units first before they release the rest of them before we start speculating.

    Ima old usta be programmer. What seems easy to do could require a complete rewrite of a program. What seems hard to do can be a simple patch. Seems (sp) are in dresses, code is in programs.

    You sent an email asking about software that hasn't even been released to the public. I don't think they were happy about it. Plus, it was just an opinion.
