Tinkering is fun. Your circuit would work fine for what I am building too. I am just using spare stuff and ain't straining my brain cells. I have o'scoped it out so I know it will work. Can't get anything done. Been going to a lot of funerals lately. Least it ain't mine. I will talk to you about it.

Amazingly enough, the hardware part of this works better than I figured it would. I need to change the code up some now and maybe limit the turning radius of the trolling motor. I was running 24 volts to the steering motor which turned out to be too much power. I guess now I'll make the aluminum drive wheels and enclose the steering box. At one time today the microprocessor got confused and just started running in circles, I was recording the NMEA data at the time so I have to replay the data and figure out what happened, god I love a challenge!!

I have read this thread from start to finish, I am in awe of the talent on crappie.com. If I ever hit the jackpot on the lottery, I intend to head down to Dub-L-Seat with a new boat and park myself while these guys do their magic....until then I'll read along and may one day say, I knew this guy when he was just starting out!!
