Coming right along Jim, I've been covered up the last few weeks so not much available time to play with the new inventions, but I'll get it!!

Really cool stuff you are doing! I am quite envious of your abilities to invent and overcome! I have a hard enough time just trying to find my waypoints back, or use anything other than the default settings on my fishfinders!! I wouldn't be surprised if people start throwing money your way to keep from educating others about what and how you are accomplishing this task you've set out on. BTW - Canepole is an amazing wealth of information, and a great guy to boot. If you two build it, I'm sure that not only will it work, but it will be flat out awesome too! My son still talks about the fish catching boat video of Canepole's! = ) Big bites, full baskets, and God's blessings to ya's!

No Sir, I've been really REALLY busy the last couple months. I did manage to come up with a few different ways to actually "steer" the trolling motor just not enough time to get out and fine tune the system. I'll make a day to work on this and give a report and a video very soon, I promise! Scouts honor!

OK, you've piqued my interest for sure. Seeing your project makes a $400 I-Pilot look pretty expensive to get no more than you do out of it. Even if there wasn't a $$ savings the functionality is way more than you get from Minn Kota at present.

So far I understand the concept of what you're doing and it's very cool. Never thought about how much info is output from the GPS and didn't realize that it was so easy to tap into. Using a Terrova or V2 PD would make it more or less plug & play. Even though it would add $$ to the project adding wireless should be pretty straight forward on CoPilot equipped motors.

Even though it's been a few years since I got into a project like this I'm seriously thinking about working on one. Are you considering marketing them or are you looking at "open source"?
You just gonna sit there an argue, or fish?

Wow, that is great. I definitely want to see the finished product on this. Way over my head, but looks like you have this down. Great job!
