I'm assuming he's asking about the type of media they come in. You have two choices - either MicroSD card or CF flash cards. From the Navionics FAQ page:

    Q. What type of media cards are HotMaps Charts available on?

    A. HotMaps Charts are available on CF (CompactFlash) and MicroSD (MSD) media cards, also commonly referred to as cartridges or chips.

Most common is the MicroSD card. Excluding the Navionics apps for smart phones & Ipads of course... Check your electronics manual for which media format it uses.
