Another Saga in the life of Crappiegirl 1 and the fishfinder quest. Now that i had settled down with the Lowrance HDS7 with structure scan and was getting along with it pretty good-------------BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did the June update in October (hadnt been using the boat) and the minute i put the update card in the HDS and downloaded-------------the HDS never worked again--------------BOOM-------GONE----------------NO BUTTONS WORK----------------DEAD!
many calls later to customer service, i send it in to them-----------insured of course.
OCT 13 unit sent in 2 day mail (keep receipts)
OCT 18 call to make sure they received the unit----YES the received the unit---we are going over it now
OCT 20 call to see whats going on with the unit ----unit will have to be replaced, we have no new ones in stock, there is an order coming in and yours will be
mailed out on OCT 25
OCT 25 called to see if my "new" unit has been mailed out as promised------------well , noooooo, we wont have any coming in for awhile yet--------------what
happened to the OCT 25 order-------WELL, didnt know anything about that one WELL FIND THE
H--OUT!
OCT26 where is my new hds 7 that was to be shipped on the 25th, HE said another order of them may be coming in------------ might want to call back friday, maybe we will know more
OCT28 well its fri, I WANT MY HDS 7 NEW REPLACEMENT, IM SUPPOSED TO GO TO NORTHERN FLORIDA TO TALQUIN AND I AM PI-------
i want to talk to mgmt. well i will transfer you. ok, it says in your warranty to allow up to 20 days, i said, thats for FIXING mine is to be replaced support was to ship a new replacement the 25th of OCT. Weeeeelllllll sent you a refurbished unit out probably today---------------I said i dont want a refurbished unit, i dont want some one elses problems i was told i was getting replaced with a new one---------------WHERE IS IT? WELL it says in your warranty------------------------s--- the warranty---have somebody over you phone me back or send me my money back
for the HDS 7 THAT HAS BEEN USED MAYBE 10 TIME purchased in feb 2011
OCT28 phone again, this time i get the SIMRAD division, "Tom" who sees my side of things clearly, does a little investigating, finds a brand new hds 7 somewhere and is shipping overnight at his expense---GIVE THAT MAN A DRINK AND A CIGAR! Then calls me back and confirms its going out tonight! what a great guy!

Atleast by pushing so many buttons you FINALLY got the right person on the phone. After it's all said and done I'd call back and speak with Tom (thinking he's THE big wheel) and let him know how you were treated.![]()

Yea I agree, Tom, YOU ARE THE MAN! That being said, if they would have fixed your original unit, it would have been Refurbished!!! Lots of dealers sell refurbished items, TM's, FF's, etc. 99% of the time, they look and work like new.
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
